FAQs:

  • Q1: Can this be used on hardwood?
A: Knotting is typically used on softwoods where resinous knots are present. Hardwood usually doesn’t require knotting.
  • Q2: Can I apply water-based paint over this?
A: No, it is not recommended to use water-based paints over knotting as they may not adhere properly.
  • Q3: Should I sand the knotting after application?
A: No. Do not sand the knotting once applied, as this will break the seal and reduce its effectiveness.
  • Q4: Is this suitable for outdoor use?
A: Yes, when used correctly and overcoated with a suitable outdoor primer and topcoat.
